Why this exists
Finding a reliable tradesperson in HRM shouldn't be a gamble. Most homeowners rely on word-of-mouth, neighbourhood Facebook groups, or the first name that comes up on Google — and most have a story about a job that went wrong. Meanwhile, the genuinely skilled, honest tradespeople in the area struggle to stand out from the noise.
ProveAPro fixes both sides of that. Homeowners get a list of trades that have actually been vetted by someone who works in the industry. Tradespeople who do good work get a place where their reputation is the product, not their ad budget.
Who's behind it
ProveAPro was founded in Halifax by someone working in the trades. The platform was built from the ground up with input from the people it's meant to serve — homeowners frustrated with hiring blind, and tradespeople tired of competing on price with cowboys who undercut and disappear.
Where we're focused
ProveAPro covers Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, and Sackville at launch. Coverage will expand across Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada as the platform grows.
How to get involved
Homeowners: browse the directory, contact tradespeople directly, leave a review after the job's done.
Tradespeople: apply to be listed. If you pass the vetting checks, you'll be live on the site within a week.
